Providing Quality Care by Caring Professionals since 1999.
Tender Age Pediatric Therapies was founded in 1999. It was our mission to form an agency that would help children and their families by providing them with experienced and caring professionals.
It is our goal to provide an atmosphere that fosters and nurtures the growth of each individual child so that they may reach their full potential. Together we can make a difference in a child’s life.
Children treated at our Long Island office have access to our spacious, child friendly gross motor and sensory gym, and smaller private rooms. Each room is fully equipped with the necessary tools to facilitate the services that each child needs. Our treatment rooms are fully stocked with writing utensils, crafting materials, puzzles, games, theraputty, a bean table for treatment of sensory and tactile dysfunction, and more. Our gymnasium area is home to a wide and narrow balance beam, a ramp and staircase for balance training, therapy balls, a ball pit, a trampoline, a swing, a collection of scooters, tricycles and bikes used for strengthening, and more. Feel free to stop by and check out our facility to see how these resources can benefit your child!
All of the employees, therapists, and teachers at Tender Age Pediatric Therapies share one goal - to provide the best help and services possible to children and their families. All of our therapists have multiple years of experience evaluating and treating children with a variety of diagnoses and disabilities.
Hi. I’m Lori Teitler-Rivera, PT, MSPT. I graduated from Touro College in 1989 with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy - this was way before today’s Doctorate programs! After graduation, I worked at Rusk Institute of NYU for 3 years. Although I always knew I wanted to work with children, I thought that doing rotations would help me become a well-rounded therapist. While working at NYU, I moved to Suffolk County, NY. Although I loved working at NYU after my pediatrics rotation, I started working at Western Suffolk BOCES for a shorter commute.
In 1993, I had my first child. In 1995 I had my second child and decided to become a contract therapist to have more flexibility with my schedule. My son also required early intervention (EI) and preschool services. He started with speech/feeding, then PT and OT were added. Now, not only was I a physical therapist, I was also a mother of a child who had special needs. Because of this, I understand the world of pediatric therapies as both a parent and professional.
In 1999, I co-founded Tender Age PT (Pediatric Therapies) Inc. We have been in business for over 20 years and have had the pleasure of working with the absolute best therapists and families through the years! I look forward to continuing to do so!
Hi, my name is Ellen Rasmussen. PT, MSPT. I graduated from Stony Brook University in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
In 1999, I co-founded Tender Age Pediatric Therapy, Inc. with Lori, and the rest is history. After over 35 years of being a physical therapist, the best part of my day is still when I get to work with the children!
Our dedicated team of office staff - Angela, Cecilia, and Kathy - are here to help you set up appointments and answer questions you may have about getting started, the services we offer, school districts, prescriptions, and more. (They're camera shy!)
